Personal Leadership Extravaganza '09 is set to be an important milestone for everyone involved in the PLSeminars community.
The deadline for the "early bird" discount is January 19 - earlier than it usually is. If you are interested in coming to Crestone for either the Foundations (March 9-13) or Training of Facilitators (March 9-16) programs - register by January 19 and take advantage of the $200 discount for first-time attendees or the 15% discount for those wanting a refresher in either program.
During last year's Crestone Seminars we celebrated the launch of our book: Making a world of difference. Personal Leadership: A methodology of two principles and six practices. With book sales documenting that PL's core methodology is reaching out around the world, we're discovering a great new freedom to explore alternative ways of bringing forth the essential messages of a Personal Leadership practice.
Therefore this year, throughout both the Foundations and the Training-of-Facilitators programs, we'll be working less with the traditional forms of Personal Leadership facilitation and much more with the core teachings. During the Training of Facilitators program, we'll explore a broad range of possibilities for communicating those teachings, as well as new technologies and/or exercises we can use when we facilitate a full PL seminar or integrate selected aspects of PL into a variety of applications - whether those may be primarily focused on, for example, team-building, leadership development or intercultural education.
And Then! On March 17, following the completion of the seminars, we will hold a Community Dialogue for everyone and anyone who is able to join us. We're reinventing Personal Leadership Seminars, taking an evolutionary step beyond "organization as business institution" - and towards - "organization as cooperative infrastructure." We'll have more information for you as we approach the Dialogue. In the meantime, check out this TED talk by Clay Shirky.
Crestone is the one time each year when we, Sheila, Barbara, and Gordon, facilitate public seminars together; that guarantees an enormously joyous and co-creative experience, and a unique opportunity for everyone who participates.
The location also offers a once-in-a-year opportunity. People who've come to our seminars in Crestone consistently talk about the power of this high-desert valley at the foot of the spectacular Sangre de Cristo mountain range, and how it helps them expand into their full possibility. The seminars we hold here are professionally enlivening while at the same time serve as personal "retreats forward."
