The benefits of consulting with PL

Brett Bevell
Holistic Education Programs Manager, Omega Institute; author; healer
Rhinebeck, New York, U.S.A.
My first experience with Personal Leadership happened when one of the Founders brought this wonderful work to the seasonal managers at Omega Institute. I found it to be powerful stuff, the kind of work that gives you more than just personal insights, but also techniques to bring action to those insights. I wish all major nonprofits, corporation and government agencies would use this work. If they did, we would be living in a much better world.

Judie Cooper
Associate Director, Organizational Development, Office of Facilities Management and Reliability, Smithsonian Institution; author
Washington, D.C., U.S.A.
At the Smithsonian, we recognize that effective leadership begins from the inside out. To really be able to lead others, you must understand and be able to lead yourself. The training we provide to colleagues at all levels—supervisors, managers and front-line staff—helps us apply leadership principles to ourselves, and to situations and challenges we encounter. It supports better organizational performance. Our facilitators were innovative, inspiring, authentic and very skilled at weaving threads of Personal Leadership into the tapestry of successful organizational leadership.

EnCompass LLC
Embedding Personal Leadership-Making A World of Difference to EnCompass’ work has brought about personal transformation to UN leaders around the world enabling them to increase their effectiveness in building a better world. Inspired by this impact, EnCompass also embraced PL as one of the key approaches to strengthening its own staff leadership. I am grateful for the valuable difference PL has brought to our work and personal lives.

Our homeowners at Atlanta Habitat for Humanity have enjoyed participating in Personal Leadership elective classes since 2013. PL encourages creating a vision for their lives, breathing, being mindful of judgement, staying positive, and reducing stress.

Chair of the Board, Jakarta International School

At the Jakarta International School, we were at a crossroads in our development. We had a strong school and were proud of the 60 nationalities that invigorate us, but needed to take the next step: the leaders of tomorrow must do more than merely “tolerate” and “celebrate” diversity. The PLSeminars team, themselves outstanding at bridging difference, introduced us to the possibility of building our competence for using difference synergistically.
